The Planning & Zoning Commission meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers in the Galena Village Hall at 109 Harrison Street.

Each meeting's agenda is posted at these five public locations around the Village:

  • Galena Village Hall, 109 Harrison Street;
  • U.S. Post Office, 34 W. Park Street;
  • Outside Display Board at 13 W. Columbus Street;
  • Outside Display Board at Ruffner Park, 152 Harrison Street;
  • Outside Display Board at Miller Park, 268 N. Walnut Street.

If you would like to apply for a zoning permit, print this application: Application for a Zoning Certificate, complete it, including the appropriate drawings, and mail it with the appropriate fee to the Village of Galena at P.O. Box 386, Galena, Ohio 43021 or drop it off at the Galena Village Hall, 109 Harrison Street, in Galena.

Galena Master Plan 2010

In September 2010, Galena adopted a new Master Plan. This plan reviews the Village's history, governance structures, infrastructure, land use, and environment. Then it attempts to predict future growth that may occur in and around the Village according to current development trends. The plan makes recommendation to shape the future so the Village develops according to its own vision. These recommendations are then broken down into goals, policies, and plans to influence specific planning and funding decision. The document is large, so for your viewing convenience, it has been broken into smaller documents. For the entire Master Plan, print all eleven documents.

NOTE: The Master Plan Map in Chapter 8, Page 8-4, has been superseded by the Master Plan Map version adopted by Village Council on November 26, 2018.
